The Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project is a $5.75 billion program and will double the tracks along the 20km corridor between Kuraby and Beenleigh, increasing the rail network capacity and improving reliability of services. The project will also make it easier for customers to access high frequency rail services through modern station upgrades and improves safety and reduces traffic congestion for local communities through level crossing removals.
Delta was engaged by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to manage the procurement of the Independent Certifier and Technical Advisor services for the project’s Rail Package.
Delta developed and implemented a multi-stage combined procurement program that focused on optimising costs for participants while meeting the requirements of the TMR and the rail operator Queensland Rail. Delta also delivered an innovative concurrent procurement program for the Independent Certifier and Technical Advisor services. This innovative approach aimed to enable better alignment and consistency, minimised duplication of effort, and efficiencies during the procurement program.
