Gateway Upgrade Project 

The $1.9b Gateway Upgrade Project was the largest bridge and road project in Queensland’s history. 

The project involved the construction of a second Gateway Bridge including a dedicated pedestrian and cycle way, refurbishment of the existing Gateway Bridge, upgrades to 12km of the Gateway Motorway, construction of a new 7km motorway and free-flow electronic tolling and Intelligent Transport System (ITS).
