BRUCE HIGHWAY – CABOOLTURE/BRIBIE ISLAND ROAD INTERCHANGE TO STEVE IRWIN WAY UPGRADE

Key services provided by our people:
Business case

Building Queensland led the development of the business case for the project in partnership with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

The Bruce Highway is a vital link for general traffic, freight and tourism joining Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and central and northern Queensland.

Between the Caboolture/Bribie Island Road interchange and the Steve Irwin Way interchange, the highway is a four-lane divided carriageway. This section experiences peak-period congestion, safety issues and is prone to flooding.

The business case investigated upgrades to 11km of the Bruce Highway between Caboolture - Bribie Island Interchange and Steve Irwin Way.

The business case analysed an upgrade of the existing four-lane highway to a six-lane divided highway with flood and safety improvements.
